These cookies are actually not your average sugar cookie. They have some spice to them...meaning fall time spice NOT hot spice. They remind me of growing up and making cookies for the care packages we would send to my siblings who were off at college. Make these with my mom's frosting and you have it made!
2c. sugar
2c. shortening
4 eggs, well beaten
5 1/2 c. flour
6 tsp. Baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. cloves
cream sugar and shortening.
Add eggs and vanilla
In separate bowl sift flour, baking powder, salt, nutmeg, cinnamon, and cloves.
Add to egg mixture, mix
Chill for about an hour.
Roll out to desired thickness and Bake 400* 8-10 minutes.
