Fresh Strawberry or Peach Pie

Fresh Strawberry or Peach Pie

1 3/4 cups water
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/4 cup corn starch
1 pinch salt
ready to bake pie shells ( I use Marie Calendar ones...they're cheap and taste great)
3 oz. pkg. strawberry or peach jello
fresh strawberries or peaches, washed, peeled or stemmed and sliced
Cool Whip

Bake pie shell according to package directions. Set aside to cool. Once cool, fill completely with desired sliced fruit. In sauce pan, cook to a boil the water, corn starch, sugar and salt until thick and clear. Add package of Jell-O that corresponds to the fruit in the pie shell. Take off heat, stir well and set aside to cool. When mixture has cooled down, pour over fruit in the pie shell and refrigerate until set. Serve with cool whip.
